Its a story I've always been fascinated with, I love the story, have seen all the movies, read the book, and have made replicas of it on the sims 2. The only thing is I don't believe the story. The Lutz family were in debt and needed money fast, and they had a close association with Ronald DeFeo's lawyer and even admitted to lying about certain events. I think its all a big hoax but the Lutz family really pulled it off and are now stinking rich and living in a mansion in California. :)

there is more than meets the eye when it comes to the unknown. instead of keeping the closed mind on such subjects just soak it in and realize, maybe there are ghost of the violent nature out there. and becareful of buying a house that had mutiple murders in it. THE TRUTH IS OUT THERE :grin

I really enjoy reading what expierences other people have had with the paranormal. It is very interesting.
I used to be skeptical, till the time my dad passed 20 yrs ago. Nothing major happened, just particular odors that would stay in the same spot no where else. And the feeling of a presence. Things like that. After he passed i had dreams for months he would tell me to make sure my windows were locked,he'd call on the phone wanting to talk to my mom she alsways refused saying he was dead. I always woke up in a cold sweat afraid to go back to sleep. This same exact dream went on for months. Not sure what it meant. Well this is a neat site look forward to visiting and reading more. And Patty if you read this you have some very interesting articles here . Enjoyed reading your posts.

I do believe the Amityville haunting happened however I think some people are more sesitive to spiritual things than others which may explain why the new residents of the house are unaffected by anything or if they are it isn't as severe and they don't want to bring anymore attention to themselves by admitting that there is still paranormal activity there. I believe anytime something tragic happens like the DeFeo murders that energy remains in the house.

do u have any listings for legitimate mediums. i've always been interested in contacting my mother. she died of brain cancer 18 years ago. i'm very afraid of being robbed, which is why i've never inquired; until now i guess. there's too many phony fruitcakes out there, with the sole intention of making a buck. let me know if u can. thanx.

I actually do belive that all this happened, there are alot of unansweared questions though i do agree.
If all this is true why didnt they knock the house down after all had happened?
I also would love to know if the new family who live, there now have had any funny things happen to them?the house i think looks better after the modernisation you move with the times.
The villiage itself looks quite nice though,i also wonder why the new family havent fled like the lutz family did.... :p
