Theories - A Good Start - 2005/03/26 06:49 I'd like to know what other people have as theories to ghosts. It might help Root to develope tests for his experiments. For example Patty and I have been going on about crystals in various forums. There have also been suggestions on trying to film ghosts. Let us know what you think. Explain why or how you think ghosts exist. No theory can be wrong because nobody knows the real answer! So let loose!

Re:Theories - A Good Start - 2005/03/28 03:17 hey yet again tla,

ever read about the russian photographer who claimed he developed a crystal lens that allowed him to photograph the same area with different results depending on how he moved this lens. he showed photos of things from the past, present and future. the story goes that other photographers have made the same lens, performed the same experiments and came up with the same results. if you're thinking of peter herkos, he influenced film with psychic energy. the photographer from russia did his experiments in the early 1900's i believe. it was on the net but i can't remember the url.

then there's something i came upon recently which seems to apply. american scientists saw a grey whirlwind in antartica and noticed over a period of time it didn't move or dissapate. they put a probe into it and found the clock showed it had traveled in time. they did it two more times and each time it time traveled. when the ghost is at the very last part before completely fading from view there is a greyish effect at the last which appears to be broken up. this further degrades to points of grey before disappearing. wonder if there's a connection? hmmmm

Re:Theories - A Good Start - 2005/03/30 04:47 Hi Ho Patty!

Nope! Never heard of the Russian. Can you find a name for me?

It sounds like there could be a connection with the grey mist and spirits. But is it a doorway to another time.... or a portal to parellel Universe that runs at a different time than ours? Don't forget: Time is relevant.

Re:Theories - A Good Start - 2005/03/31 13:45 dear tla,

i'll try and locate the information about that russian photographer/scientist. don't know how long that will take. it's interesting to read though. the russians have alot of information that's come out since the fall of communism there.

it would be interesting to see if someone could construct such a lens from this guys directions and see if they could capture any pics of ghosts on the film. that'll be root's next adventure no doubt. lol

the grey mist or fog. i've remembered two incidents i experienced myself with such and have heard the reports of some others who've encountered the same thing. the grey mist though forms into an unshaped inverted dome which comes at them with great speed. now this involves many different people at many different times at locations not even near each other. they all felt as if the big black thing that the mist became reached into their minds and touched something primal within causing them overpowering and unreasonable fear. this is like what my little brother and i encountered with the one we came upon back in our woods. everyone without exception has mentioned mounds and earthworks that have been there since before the indians.

i'll have to do some mapwork to see what i can discover by plotting these places. there's part of a road in newark which is aligned to pass through just north of chillicothe. my husband's family were the first white settlers there and he relates that there was indeed a roadway and stone wall through part of their woods which went in the direction of newark. the area i grew up in is about in the middle between newark and my husband's family place near chillicothe. mound city is near chillicothe too. in fact my husband took me to see that there are many many more mounds across the river there some of which have been torn down to provide a level planting field. also near this is the old ge property which the military has taken over. it's been called one of the new area 51's.

a feature of the landscape as seen by early explorers was earthworks which were found to be in the shape of a hebrew menorah. near chillicothe there were two different artifacts found which were also of hebrew origin which they dated to ancient hebrew. these were located in two separte areas and were described as being ceremonial/religious articles. the earthwork menorah is now plowed under though it's presumed the lower layers of this might possibly still be intact below where the area has been plowed for farming. i've been around alot of these mounds an felt energies coming from them. i watched two of my male classmates run from the top of one of the mound city mounds terrified saying there was somthing big and black coming after them. they tried everything to crack their story but the boys didn't budge and weren't laughing when they walked away from them. they swore they wouldn't leave the building until we got ready to leave as well. one might rightly say, "what the devil is going on here?" thomas jefferson built a house he called adena after the adena people who'd been there. the moundbuilders were there before any of these were. over at the adena house there's also some powerful energies in places. i've seen the grey mist over there in the formal patterned garden as a teen. another girl saw it and i ignored it while keeping an eye on it with my perpheral vision. i wanted to see if anyone else would see this. this girl did and told the teacher that this big black thing was after her. this thing didn't react this same way towards me but then again i was watching it with curiosity instead of fear. somehow i wonder if the grey mist mirrors our own feelings so closely that it magnifies them back on us. a couple of the boys saw it from a distance after the girl went screaming inside. they saw it but were peering at it on the edge of this garden. it didn't come after them and in time they saw all they'd wanted to see of it and left. i sat there a bit longer and tried to see if it would approach me. it began to do this when the teacher screamed at me to come in right now. she was looking right at it when i turned to look where she was. she was so white in the face.

so, what the devil is this grey stuff. why does it mirror our own feelings and magnify them back on us. it seems to react to our reactions to it. it moves and seems to have an energy to it. yet, what is it? after the boys ordeal at mound city i hung back to get a drink from the fountain while the teacher talked with the park employees about the incident. they said a man and woman came to that same mound, went up it to the top and had the exact same reaction. that's when the teacher decided not to try and break the boys' stories anymore and asked them not to discuss it with any of the kids. too late! i'd already heard it all! lol still no one would believe it. the boys later approached me and asked what i'd seen and were relieved to know i'd seen it chasing them. they asked me what i thought and i told them sorry but i was glad not to have been in their shoes when that happened. they kept asking me what i thought it was but i had no idea.

by the way some of these incidents that were discussed with me happened in louisiana, the honey swamp, and down close to the bayou near new orleans. another friend who's in se louisiana has seen some grey mists though they were accompanied by other paranormal phenomenon. some have seen these in sw west virginia and some in tenn. one guy i talked to lived in iowa and had seen something akin to this there. then there are the skin walkers out west that are described in much the same manner. some think these are ghosts, elementals, and some think they are shape shifter tricksters their people have known for generations. some other tribes talk of the wendigo which seems to bear some resemblance to this grey mist before becoming a certain shape.

the grey mist isn't a recent phenomenon and has been reported in other countries. you might want to get the book named "time storms" by jenny randles of such paranormal activities she's investigated. from what i've seen time isn't a continuous stream but at times there are breaks which lead to other time periods and back again. some people have been seen walking across fields or lawns to disappear as if they walked through an invisible doorway from which they never returned. onlookers saw the whole thing. extensive investigation didn't find where these people went.

ever read about the bottomless hole? this man discovered it on his property after looking for a place to dump trash and dead animals. for years upon years he and his neighbors threw all sorts of things in there which should've at some point began to fill it up. however no top of the heap was ever seen. the landowner even put lengths of rope tied together down the hole to see if it would come back wet or dirty. neither happened. the government came in, sealed it off, and took it from the landowner. this is a real hole which seems not to have a bottom. there's another one in medina, over in the middle east, which is the site of an islamic pilgramage. there's a post in the middle which goes down forever no one knows if there's a bottom to this. the hole every year begins empty as it goes down little by little until all the rocks and pebbles disappear into the depths. the ritual they perform is to throw rocks at this post which represents the devil. they believe it actually causes the devil physical pain. the ritual is supposed to be begun at mecca by picking up stones, rocks or pebbles and carrying these to medina to throw at this stone pillar or post. when everyone is done with their part in this there is a celebration to mark this. the hole is full and overflowing with rocks and they feel good that they accomplished this as if it were a necessary task. when they return the following year all the rocks are gone and the hole is empty to as far as they can see. no one has ventured into the hole to see where it goes. they believe some things should not be questioned. no doubt they don't want to come face to face with the devil.

there are many many odd things around the state of ohio and further out covering the whole world. many of these sites are said to be haunted by ghosts that have been seen and described. i wonder if these are somehow cracks in time which they can come through to enter our world.

Re:Theories - A Good Start - 2005/04/04 04:47 I've never heard of the bottomless hole. That sounds cool. That's what I mean, the government would certainly hide that from us. After all, they know what's best for us. Of course if they didn't, we would likely become similar to a third world country, believing in every myth that comes along.
