Grounding - 2005/09/07 06:01 Hi Folks!
Immrama wrote an excellent piece and I've tried to paste it here in the forums so it may look a little odd at first. Just add any comments you may have at the bottom.

Thanks!

Some spirits are always "with us" and can follow us, they aren't nessesarily connected to a place, but to people.

I had this problem a lot, then I learned how to clear them off. It's not a difficult process. Just a lot of learning and grounding.

BINGO !!!

You hit the nail on the head! But what kind of connection, I wonder? A connection to someone special or someone with a special "Gift"?

How do you mean "Grounding", Immrama?

How did you clear them off? I would really be interested to know, and so would many others on this site...If you wouldn't mind sharing, I would appreciate your input.

Thanks,

Let me see how I can explain this without confussing everyone. This is going to be a long post, so bare with me.

When we die, a large majority of people move forward and go on to Heaven or the Otherside. How ever you wish to call it. Others can stay attached to a person, because the person doesn't go through the normal stages of mourning and wants their departed person back so much, that spirit will hear their loved ones, and are confussed about what to do, so they return to that person, instead of moving on. It is this way, that we can personally become haunted. We have to remember to grieve, and love our family, but know that they are better leaving us.

So let's say this person was a wife to a man for 60 years, and he dies. And she mourns and says things daily like "Why did you have to go? Why did you leave? I want you back! I wish I could have you back!" Well, the husband's spirit isn't deaf to these questions, they can hear everyone his wife is asking, and feel responsible to help stop her grief, so he returns to stay with her. He tries to help her in his limited way, maybe by contacting her in a dream or moving favorite items in their home. But in her grief maybe she doesn't see these things, and so he basically sits in limbo, spending the days being unsceen by his wife.

So let us fast forward to five years later, and the wife passes away now. She goes onto the great unknown and her husband's spirit is still in the home they lived in. The house is cleared, people come and go viewing the house and then it sells. A new family moves in, and this family puts things into places where this Spirit doesn't think they should go. So he starts moving items, keys, or jewelry. (Usually small items) He becomes more and more frustrated, and the hauntings get worse. Nothing bad, just maybe photos fall off the walls, or that favorite CD you have goes missing. So, the family gets so scared they move out of the house very fast. And the spirit is goes back to wondering through his home again, not understanding where his wife is.

Not all hauntings happen like this. Sometimes folks don't know their dead, because it was sudden, or they were so ill when they passed they had no idea. Some hauntings are like a video loop of energy that plays over and over again. It is on a ever playing loop, because the walls, the floor and the house become a "battery" for this energy to continue. It stores this memory and just replays it. This can happen outside, the same way when relics are left from history. Sometimes we can't explain hauntings, and they just happen.

You can clear a spirit by telling it to go into the light. I know we've heard this for years, but this is really what we do to clear them. We tell them "You've been dead for years, it's time for you to move into the Light. You are no longer welcome here, go to God." If you are uncomterable do it yourself, seriously contact a Medium. They work specifically with this sort of thing, to remove spirits from a place or person. They can also communicate with the spirit to ask them why they are stuck, and what they want. Then they can instruct this person on how to leave.

I had problems with self hauntings, because I was so open, that I was like a becon of light to a ghost. They would come to the house and not understand that I didn't really see them, or hear them. Then I began being able to hear them or feel them. There would be a cold spot, or things would go missing. I can't tell you how many sets of keys I never found. I had always had an interest in spirits and hauntings, so I finally started asking questions. I knew I had some psychic gifts, but had no idea how to work with them. They were wild, and all over the place. Some days I'd be so connected that it didn't matter who it was, I could see and feel things. It was like being bombarded. Other days, it was like the light was on but noone was home. So when I learned to ground it was like learning to tame a wild horse. It was a slow processes, that helped me maintain a connection longer, and more frequently.

Grounding is when we "root" ourselves to the solid earth with our personal energy, to help us become balanced and more connected. We can do this by feeling all our energy starting from the top of our head, begin to feel heavy and flow downward toward our feet. We drawn down our energy and feel it move through our body and into our feet. You actually do feel the difference because the heels of your feet will become heavy on the ground. You also feel very relaxed and peaceful.

If you've ever meditated, and know the feeling of having all our energy pooled inside yourself, and all your thoughts centered into your person, you have the very idea of grounding or sometimes it's called centering. I will try to actually find a good set of directions for what is is, so that if anyone wants to try this, they can.

If you have any more questions, feel free! I'm glad to help.

If anyone is local to Clermont County, and wants to learn to ground in person, or have other questions, I'm always willing and happy to answer them in any facet I can.

Hello!

Great comment and explanation!!!!

I've often thought about these things lately and you have a good point there, because I think too that sometimes the spirits, that are left behind here just don't know wjat is going on and they just don't know where to go.
So maybe telling them will help them.
Thanks Immrama!!!

I've a question so: Did you have a lot of encounters with ghost or spirits?

Would love to hear more about it, because I am still trying to understand it all. You have to know, I haven't had any encounters yet, but one.

Keep it up!!

Sharnara,
To answer your question, yes, I do. My husband and I both seem to be "switched on" to feel and see them. It's not often, the place had to be really hopping.

I think you can do it to. If you've had one encounter, there's bound to be more. What was your encounter?

I like your piece, Immrama! Your explanation is great! You can read about Shanara's experience in my section under the title "The Unsuspecting".

Your explanation ties in with a thought that occured to me while watching the movie "Ghost" with Patrick Swayze. I agree that some spirits are bound by unfinished business or their love for those they've left behind but I had to wonder "what happens when their time is up?"

They seem to have no time limits whereas we do. Those we left behind will die and go their own way, homes we've built will be replaced by new office buildings, life goes on here, you might say. So what do they do when their time runs out to have an effect on things here? They wander and maybe try to keep their influence strong when they notice things keep changing (new home owners, a new building, etc).

Thank you. An excellent piece. I'd love to hear more from you and you husband.

As for grounding.... controlling your bodies energy is practiced all over the world with different names and for different purposes. Even the Japanese use it in their different fighting styles such as karate, for example. Now I understand what you mean by "grounding"... and will avoid it at all costs. Some of us prefer to block any encounters right from the git-go

Take care and I hope we see more from ya'll! You're very helpful.

I would hope you'd ground all the time. It helps build your personal Chi, and protects you from things that can cause you issues when you do ghost hunt. If you are senative at all to ghosts, it's the first line of defence when your working is grounding. Consider grounding as your armor agenst it all. It's an important lesson and can keep you really safe.

Sometimes even when someone is torn down, the spirit can reside there. Or sometimes they learn they can leave. I haven't investigated this in detail, but I've seen ghosts in brand new houses, and in old houses. Sometimes they stick around because their part of the area. I'm curious about this also. That's a good question. I'll have to look around and see what folks think.

Heck, you nearly had to writing about my own personal ghost experiances if we had bought the house we just looked at. I'm glad I didn't learn that lesson the hard way.

I'm glad to help, offer advice, and do what I can.
