My Room - 2005/10/25 05:24
This ghost story happened to me a while back. Well my family and I moved in to this house that dates back to 1891. The house seemed to be a lot colder than a new house. So one night I was lying in bed when I heard footsteps above my room. We don't have an upstairs expect for the attic, but the space is to little for anyone to fit in. So anyways, I woke up and the footsteps got louder as if someone was walking right beside my bed. Then I look up and see this face appear from the celing. So if anybody can explain this please do?

Wow! Was the the only instance occuring in that house? How do you mean "colder" Older houses have a lot of drafts. Or do you mean the house ad a very cold feel to it. Like a cold personality?

Hi ELiz!
Sorry it took me so long to get back to you.
Some houses take on their own personalities depending on what has happened under their roof. Have you had any other occurances at this house? I have to ask again because its very difficult to say exactly what you may have had in the house based on the one occurance. There's no doubt about what happened to you. It was a supernatural experience... but why did it happen? Who came through your cieling and what was he looking for? That's what bugs me.
You mentioned the house was built in 1891. Were you able to get any other information on the house or previous owners?

I have down some research on my house and found out that there was this one guy that was a captain for the navy back in 1920. He had a wife and 9 kids. 2 of the nine kids died at age 12. Both had scarlet fever. Yes I have had 4 more occurances. Two of which happened to take place down in the basement, I heard laughs from little kids. So me and my dad dug into a small space in the wall and found this old trunk full of really old toys. So, we think thats were the kids slept. Well I hope that answered your questions and that we can keep up the conversation. Sorry I toke so long.

Hi Eliz,
I'm so sorry it took me so long to reply this time. I'll try and do better.
The children you heard in the basement and the toys are obviously tied together. Maybe they didn't sleep there but rather spent the most enjoyable days of their youg lives playing with each other with their toys in the basement. We have a playroom for our boys in the basement as well, for rainy days. They played a lot down there when they were young and now we're turning it into a party room for them. Teenagers. And all of their junk is down there.
Did you and your father move the toys upstairs somewhere?
Did the occurance with the face in the ceiling happen before or after you found the toys?
I'll really try and be faster next time, Eliz. My new job got the best of me and my time. I look forward to hearing from you again.
