Well, I really haven’t got too much of an update. My wife, RootKitty, has been chatting with Ravenwolfe about incidents around the house, but nothing too serious has happened. We’ve heard glass breaking, music boxes playing, voices chanting, etc. Still though, nothing can top the wolf.
The reason I’m updating the site today is to tell you that we are actually moving. We close on a house in 15 days unless something really bad happens. If this deal does fall through, I’m not pursuing it again for two more years. Assuming everything goes as planned, and we do close in 15 days, we will be out of the house by Apr 25. On that date you’ll find the house is for sale; I’ll even post the address here on the website.
Now, I’ll let me say that there are some things that I need to figure out. Should I turn off Hello Ghost and walk away, or should I turn it into a site where people can post content about hauntings in their houses? I guess another option is selling it on eBay and letting someone else turn it into what they want. Or, better yet, offering it for sale to a reader that may want it.
I guess I’m open to your suggestions. Bryan, my avid young reader, doesn’t want us to move. We really have to though. Not all things remain the way they are, Bryan. I don’t want to abandon Hello Ghost, but I really have no reason to keep it open. I think I could turn it into a really nice multi-user site with plenty of paranormal content, but I’m not 100% certain that there’s a demand for it. What do you think? If people were to post about their hauntings, would you continue to be interested in Hello Ghost? The only difference would be that the site wouldn’t be centered around one particular family as it is now.
PS. Remember, deals do fall through. We may right well be stuck living here for another couple years. I hope not, but time will tell. I will continue to keep you posted with any further updates. Here’s a thought for you to ponder. I’m glad that you all enjoy reading about the misfortunes of my family. Hahaha. :-)

Re: Moving Written by patty1019 on 2005-03-15 22:32:06 hi, have you ever thought of keeping the place and renting it out to people who want to stay in a haunted house? it's big business down south. anyway, i will miss your adventures if you move away. sorry, but in reading about your family's misfortunes i've figured out some i had years ago. yesterday, a man in heavy shoes or boots was walking on our roof. guess what? you got it! no one was there. we moved in here just over a year ago and i had heard it before only it had always been downstairs outside my bedroom door or upstairs over my bedroom. whoever it is has slammed the basement door a few times and also knocked over something large and metal in the basement on two occasions. it wasn't anything we owned as nothing was found when i searched. believe me when i say i've got extra good hearing! i raised two kids by myself, enough said? lol this person sounds like he weighs about the same as my husband and i've felt sure my husband came back in the house after he'd left for work. i heard him come through the front door into the dining room to the kitchen, sometimes to the basement then back up through the kitchen, dining room, hallway past the bedroom and into the next bedroom and bathroom. he traveled back and forth like he was looking for something. at the time i thought it very strange that the dog didn't get up to greet him as she usually did. i called to him to see what he was looking for and there was no answer. i thought that very strange but sometimes when his mind is on something else he dosen't hear me, lol. finally i gave up listening to him go back and forth over and over and decided to ask him in person what he was looking for. i went through the first floor and couldn't find him. you can imagine my furrowed brow at that point. i hadn't heard him go downstairs. yet i opened the door to the basement and yelled for him and again, no answer. a few steps to the enclosed porch gave me a view of the drive in which there was no car! ut oh! quickly i checked the doors and found them all locked. i checked all the windows and closets and the dog refused to move from the bed to follow me as i went here and there. you see i never get out of her sight. after checking everything i was quite baffled that nothing was out of place and no one was around. this has been going on now off and on for over a year. the only other odd thing is hearing the big dog choker chain with tags tinkling but that happens very seldom. i have to tell the owner of this site not to expect the next house to be ghost free for too long once you move into it. for many people it seems all too often that when it starts it never stops. it's not so much a problem as ghosts from one place going with you, although that can and does happen. it's as if something in an occupant of your house was opened up. now that it's open it's a safe bet that this phenomenon will continue with that person for a very long time. this is what has happened to me in my life. i've also met many other people who've had the same thing happen. for me this has gone on all my life. my sister sees it this way, we are the light of the world as christians and so the glory or "glowing" of God is with us. if you look up glory in webster's it will say glowing. she believes that spirits are attracted not just to the light but to God's warm spirit as well. when i drowned i experienced God's spirit as being warm and all encompassing. that's her take on it anyway. it's understandable why you want to move and i don't blame you in the least for doing so as soon as you can. when we moved from a place we'd lived in for 6 years that was haunted the new place was a relief. the neighbors were very noisy but they were "alive" lol. the trauma from living in a haunted house can sap your energy to a point over time where you've never quite noticed how much it drained from you. in my life i've learned to deal with the phenomenon in stages. id what the noise is and where it's coming from. next, make a fast and thorough inspection of the entire area to rule out all possibilities. the last step i take is the most important. i tell the ghost with my mind that i'm trying to rest or do something and it's disturbing the flow. if i still feel it around i sick God on it and go about my business sure in the knowledge that He will take care of it. i've lost alot of sleep to such noises in the past but if there's no eminent threat from someone physical i don't worry about it. the dog will tell me if someone is in my space sure enough. growing up wrestling with my three brothers has taught me to have confidence in the ability to struggle well in difficult situations if need be. it used to really tick me off that others whom i couldn't control were in my house doing things i could do nothing about. that's what i thought though. i can do something about it. i can voice how i feel about what it's done and how it has affected me. usually if you take that sort of stance with people who get into your comfort space they understand and adjust. the thing is to get their attention. treat them as you would want someone to treat you if the tables were turned. the wants should be realistic. say the ghost wants to be seen by us as the same as us, ie., physical. if you don't give in to their delusion it's better for all concerned. sooner or later they get the message. the thing is that someone in your house of your family, which includes yourself, has become open to ghosts and paranormal phenomenon. although i didn't recognise it at first i can now say my own kids exhibited certain talents at very young ages. these talents are abilities that other people don't have. church calls it spiritual gifting. i've witnessed things they've done over the years that tells me they've got the gifts too. maybe it's a spiritual thing passed on like heredity. you really need to look into this possibility before you need the information next time. the line back through the family may be as simple as a grandmother who's prayers were answered all the time. maybe it's a mom or dad who had great intuition at times. what we usually see on the surface is a tiny part of the total ability of the person. such things can't be open to the public for fear of ridicule or worse. even more ridicule and scorn can come from immediate family. no family wants people to know that one of their own is "strange". when i cued into the fact that my own kids were using their abilities on me i played it back on them. this isn't mind games i'm talking of either. this is paranormal. they didn't learn this from me as i didn't speak of it. i knew it when i caught them doing it. that's when i took out the bible and read to them what we're supposed to do with these abilities. i read the punishment for misuse and the blessings for using it for good. that's all i know to do. it's worked well for me all my life and holds true in it's claims. for me spirituality is something i've always had a connection to. something that others didn't seem to even know existed. either you or your wife or both have this ability to some degree and if your child is exhibiting these abilities even to a small degree it has come from one or both you and your wife. best to identify it as early as possible and help set some guidelines for it with your child. do you ever feel that this has all happened to your family in response to something you sought to know. something deep thinkers ponder maybe? it may seem odd to think you may have wished to know something and voila' there's your answer. call it coincidence or happenstance all you want but when you see this happen alot you begin to see something else at work. many people have and they know that the regularity of these things is much too frequent to be just coincidence. you've got a keen eye for detail. you've also got good writing and reporting abilities. then there's the fact that you treat this with skepticism and experimentation. that's an important ingredient. people need to know that we, first of all, survive the death of our bodies and live on elsewhere. for some that elsewhere is here on earth. finding themselves in that predicament means they have to keep themselves busy with good things or they'll get into mischief. some tire of doing good as they didn't do much of this in life so they begin harrassing those of us in the physical world. for some like lostamerican, that means they like to bodyjack you and take your body for a joy ride. when they want to be heard by us they find a way. whatever you decide to do, owner of this site, my prayers will be with you and your family for protection. these ghosts got your number so to speak. others can get your number too. if you ever need help in the future with anything paranormal keep my contact information and feel free to contact me. i help others as others have helped me. i don't charge for this ever as God gave me the abilities and so i shouldn't make people pay for the same that i got free. i'm just passing on what i've been given. thanks, patty1019 | Auf Wiederdersehen Written by thelostamerican on 2005-03-19 16:37:53 Hi Folks, Really a shame. I have a lot more than that to say, Root, but its on my laptop at work. I'll send it to you later. But it is a shame. I'll miss the lighthouse for more than one reason. I'll get the mail off to you tomorrow. Hopefully we can save this site. But I understand your decision. I guess I heard it best watching " White Noise" this evening. There's a line there that hit home; "They're not all good". (Or at least something to that effect. I watched it in German). But it is fact. Now get outta there. We 'll stay in touch. tla
